Senior Photography Wenatchee ~ Book Your Session Today!

It’s getting to be that time of year to start thinking about your senior portraits.  Here are some helpful tips while you start thinking about your photo session.  Most importantly, remember to book your session sooner than later, the deadline for photos to be turned into the yearbook is October, and will sneak up on you before you know it.

  1. Plan on bringing a few outfits in a variety of colors that range from casual to dressy.  Accessories are great too (earrings, belts, scarf’s).  Depending on the setting one outfit may work better than another.  Options are always good.  Style tip:  Jeans are versatile enough for a casual and dressy look. One pair and multiple tops make for easy changes.  Hats are a great way to change up your look.  Long sleeves are slimming and scarves add interest to your look. Perfect touch for senior portraits.
  2. Don’t get a new haircut before your session. If you want to try something new, be sure to book your session out quite a bit to avoid any unwanted style that will be forever seen in your senior portraits. We recommend having hair professional blown out and styled by a stylist for a polished look. You can usually coordinate this with makeup application. Some of our senior sessions have hair and makeup included.
  3. Play sports? Dance? Have a music hobby? Here’s your chance to shine with incorporating those into your portraits. Bring anything along with you that you think you’d want to see used in your photos.  If you’ve seen something done before, ask us about it.

In a few more weeks the trees will start budding again, flowers will be blooming and everything will be waking up from winter.

My goal is to capture what others may not see…the real you!  This is your moment in time….how will you be remembered?

Karma Vineyards Wedding – Cally & Eli

I love hearing how couples meet and each story is truly unique. Cally and Eli are no exception. With the help of technology Cally & Eli met through the magical world of the Internet via Match.com! They had their first date in March of 2010, at a coffeehouse in Green Lake called Zokas. Eli swears it was love at first sight for him, but Cally wasn’t so convinced. It took a pep talk from her sister, Kristina, and a second date to really let her see she had met someone special.

During their third date, Eli boldly asked Cally to move to California with him while he worked on a special assignment with Boeing. Cally decided to throw caution to the wind and accompany him on his adventure. It was one of the best decisions she has ever made, and the two of them have been head over heels ever since.

Their wedding was a day full of love, family and friends. Every moment throughout the day was magical and a beautiful celebration of the love these two have for each other.  We started the day at Campbell’s Resort in Lake Chelan where the wedding party was getting ready.  Our next stop was the Lake Chelan Airport because Eli works for Boeing and LOVES airplanes so that was an important element to their wedding photos.  Eli’s Weimeriener Nala stopped by for some photos too!  Our final stop was Karma Vineyards in Chelan for this beautiful outdoor winter themed wedding.  The reception was back at the winery with an outdoor heated tent and personally sculpted ice bar.  The bridesmaids and bride wore vintage furs that belongs to a friends grandmother for a special touch and also sported some custom designed ear muffs made by Lucy Loves Ethel.

The day couldn’t have been more perfect and I love the concept of an outdoor winter wedding even with 2 inches of frost covering everything!

A beautiful and unique ring box…and yes that is frost on the airplane!

Anticipation starts to set in.  Eli couldn’t stop smiling…the countdown begins…

Eli kept repeating….”You look like a princess”….Cally really did look like a princess on their wedding day!

This beautiful Hoopa was built for Cally and Eli’s wedding by their very good friends.  It was amazing and what a special gift!

After the Ceremony instead of throwing rice, family and friends threw paper airplanes!

Can’t forget “Miss Nala” she had a fun adventure at the airport!

Cally’s bouquet was lavender and designed by her mother.  They smelled amazing!

Eli and the two Groom’s people!  These there were so fun…not only are they friends they also work together.

The brother of the groom no only married Cally and Eli today…he also sang at the reception for their first dance
“Don’t let me down” by the Beatles.  What a special way to start their life together.

Wenatchee Wedding Photographer | Bella Sera Platinum Bridal Show

The doors opened last Saturday morning for the first annual Platinum Bridal Show hosted by Bella Sera Bridal in Wenatchee.  Bella Sera did a remarkable job with the bridal show, fashion show and providing a great location for vendors to showcase their businesses.  The gowns featured in the fashion show were amazing!  The doors opened and the day was non-stop busy from 10 until 4 p.m. that night.  I loved talking with each bride about their wedding day and learning more about their special details.

My booth was next to Stephanie Sheasley from the Hair Loft and I enjoyed taking some time to look through all the amazing hair styles in her sample book.  Her team from The Hair Loft did a fantastic job on the hair and makeup for the fashion show!  Creative, clean and elegant.  I was able to sneak away from my booth for a  few moments and take a few shots of the fashion show and some vendor booths.  If you’re looking for a wedding gown, bridesmaid dresses, or prom dress contact  Bella Sera to set up your appointment!  They have some amazing gowns you don’t want to miss.

It was great connecting with some other amazing vendors at the show and wish I could have spent more time chatting with them.  I was able to get downstairs for a few moments to say hello….and try a sample of one of Busy Bea’s amazing cakes!  I loved the creativity of each of the vendors booths and connecting with some people I haven’t seen for awhile.

Special thanks to Janine at Bloomer’s and Amy from Etcetera for their generosity and allowing me borrow some items from their amazing stores in downtown Wenatchee for my booth to help spruce it up.

Check out some of the other vendors from the show who are all amazing!

Unique Wedding Bouquet Ideas

I’m always on the look out for unique ideas for weddings and a friend shared Jessica Moorehead‘s Esty shop with me.  Jessica makes beautiful paper flower wedding bouquets.   One bridal bouquet can hold 30-35 flowers each with 5 petals. That’s a total of 175 pieces of paper all hand folded by Jessica!  She can also add ribbon, tulle, and adds her own special handle to the bouquet making them truly one of a kind pieces and definitely a work of art.

Her products are beautiful, creative and unique.  What a great way to have a really creative and different wedding bouquet option for your special day!  What a beautiful treasure to keep and perhaps be shared down the road as a “something borrowed” for someone else.  Make sure to visit Jessica on ETSY or visit her Facebook page to learn more!

Below are some samples of her work.  I love how detailed each flower is and how unique the bouquets are.  I’m very sentimental and think this is such a great idea for a wedding bouquet!

Canvas by Blossom…exceptional!

I’m really loyal when it comes to working with vendors that I’ve dealt with in the past and love excellent customer service.  I recently worked with a client who was redecorating her daughter’s room.  She ordered four 16 x 20 canvas prints and I used a vendor  (no names on this one) that I’ve worked with for several years.  I was so excited when the canvas order arrived and opened them up to make sure everything was printed correctly before delivering to my client.

I ordered four canvas prints and was really surprised when only two boxes arrived and even more surprised to find out they were packaged two to a box.   After opening the packages I was very disappointed with the quality of the work.  The corners to the canvas were still tacky with glue, folded crooked and some had fuzz stuck to them from the packaging.  The ink had rubbed off in places on a few of the canvas prints from just taking them out of the packaging.  There also wasn’t any room between the wood frame and the canvas which left indentations from the frame….in the canvas.  The more I looked at the quality of the work…the more disappointed I was.  Thankfully, my client understood and the order is being re-printed by the “no name company”.  Going forward I will no longer work with the previous company due to the quality of the work.

I recently found a company called Canvas by Blossom and have been more than impressed with the quality of their work starting with how their canvas prints are packaged.  I ordered one canvas as a trail run and it was packaged in a box equivalent to the two boxes the “no name company” sent me which had four canvas prints enclosed (two to a box).   The canvas inside the box had corners on each side and Styrofoam corners in addition to keep the canvas from moving around inside the box.

Next I opened the box and was pleasantly surprised with the canvas prints, the quality and workmanship.  The corners on the canvas were put together exceptionally well, they were “not” crooked or tacky from glue.  The ink on the canvas did not wear off on my hands like the “no name vendor’s”.  The other thing I really like about Canvas by Blossom is the space they leave from the wood frame to the canvas which allows for it to be stretched properly and there are no indentations in the canvas from the frame (like the previous company).

Tim, with Canvas by Blossom is fantastic to work with and they definitely take pride in their work and their products are exceptional.  If you’re looking for a canvas vendor or you’re looking to have your photos printed on canvas visit the Canvas by Blossom website.

Below are photos showing the difference in the quality between a “no name vendor” and Canvas by Blossom (who I highly recommend!!!)
