Happy Howlidays

Chateau Faire La Pont Winery celebrated their yearly “Happy Howliday’s” event with over 75 canine’s, their owners, Mr. & Mrs. Claus and some fabulous wines!  It was great seeing so many people attend the event and all the happy festive dogs running around the winery playing together.  The Humane Society had a few very sweet dogs looking for their forever home’s too!  I’m not going to lie…I was very tempted to adopt a puppy!  I’m not sure if my other two would have approved or not.

What I really enjoyed seeing was the love and care of the dogs that were at the event.  It’s no secret I love animals and it made my heart really happy to know that each one that was there had found their forever home (except for two that were visiting from the Humane Society).

If you’re looking for a great Christmas gift and have the ability to provide a forever home to a four legged family member….stop by the Humane Society.  They have a lot of animals looking for their forever home.  What a great Christmas gift for them and you!

Thank you for everyone who came out and made this such a fun event!  Proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of dog food for the Humane Society!  Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season.

Joshua & Ruby

Ruby and Joshua are newly engaged and a joy to work with.  The love between the two of them made the photo session very easy.  Ruby giggled and Joshua smiled.  They shared secrets between each other while they walked on the beach.  The took a stroll through the park and danced in the leaves.  I was inspired to spend the afternoon with them and getting to know them better.  I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding next spring in beautiful Lake Chelan.  Congratulations Joshua and Ruby!

fear and what holds us back

Today was a monumental day that got me thinking about fear and the things that hold us back from our own success.  A few years ago I had a horse related accident, I got hung up in a stirrup and was drug down the road.  It took me a few moments to get my foot out of the stirrup and sure I fought like crazy.  I remember going to get on my horse and the ground afterwards, but I don’t remember anything in-between…I don’t remember being drug down the road (probably a good thing).

After the accident, fear got in the way of my riding and things that didn’t used to scare me when I was out riding, started to scare me.  Fear constantly kept getting my way.  ”What if this happens again”.  ”What if I get hurt”.  ”What if I can’t”.  ”What if I can”.  So many “what if’s” and so much self doubt getting in the way of my moving forward.

I found a great horse trainer who helped me over come most of my fear of riding but over the past few years about 15% still remained and lingered in the back of my mind, telling me what I couldn’t do.  Today, I shut that fear down, took the leap and had a fantastic adventure with my horse today.  There’s a sense of freedom when you let go of fear and you say “I CAN do this”.

What are your fears?  Can you turn the “I can’t” into “I can”.  Those things you’re putting off to tomorrow, those things that hold you back from pursuing a dream or new adventure….take a leap.  Don’t let fear keep you stuck in a place of “I can’t”….because if you believe in yourself….I bet you can.

fall provides a beautiful canvas

I love living in an area where we have all four seasons.  I think there is something unique and beautiful with each one.  Fall is one of the most beautiful backdrops the four seasons.  I love the fresh crisp air, the dew on the grass and the brilliant colors after a rainfall.  One of my favorite pastimes is to hop in the car and go on an adventure looking for colors.  I love winding paths, with leaves on the ground, bright colors around and the “crunch, crunch, crunch” when you walk through a pile of leaves.  Here are a few photos from one of my adventures…..

Senior Photography Wenatchee ~ Meryl

I’ve known Meryl for many years and I was so excited to photograph her Senior session.  I had the pleasure of photographer her two older sisters senior sessions in the past.  It was a pleasure working with her and a joy watching her  blossom into a wonderful young woman.  She’s going to take the world by storm and I know she will be successful in her journey.  Meryl is the youngest and has two older sisters – each one of these young ladies is an inspiration and truly amazing.  I blessed to be a part of their lives.  Congratulations Meryl as you begin your senior year.  xoxo
